We all make it. The spirit fails in his attempts. [This is a promise. He knows life hasn't been exactly easy or fair for her. So he knows he needs to get this across.] Everything turns out alright in the end.

[There it was, just that glimmer of hope, that she could get away from that life. No more Ring. No more Spirit. Her friends make it out okay, and everything turns out fine. Along with that hopeful smile, comes just a little bit of a tear, one that she wipes away quickly enough with a sniffle.]

[Well, to be technical, it's supposed to be Mou Hitori no Yuugi, but that's a mouthful to type, so we'll stick with Pharaoh and Yami no Yuugi. No, not crying. Just got a little emotional there for a second. Just so joyful and happy and hopeful that she had to shed a tear, is all.]

Y-yes, I'm sure he does. [Be thankful, you're still a guy in her universe.] He... I'm sure he would have stopped the duel, had the Spirit not intervened. [Referring to that one duel. You know the one.]

There's no question. [Well. Maybe a little. He was still fresh to the whole losing VS stakes thing. But he's much better about it now. So it makes no difference to him.] The spirit was a coward anyway for trying to force my hand that way.

...Actually, it was Malik-kun that put the idea into his head. [She looks down, a little embarrassed.] I... I caught some snippets of their conversations, before the Spirit suppressed my consciousness fully. From what I could hear, he was against the idea at first. [Since she did muck up his plans in the Monster World game. He wasn't about to make the same mistake twice with that.]

But, when he realized that he was losing, did Malik-kun suggest that he force your hand with using me as bait. He reluctantly agreed and... [Well, you know the rest.]

[He finds it a little strange you're defending the spirit. Who is clearly an asshole who ruined your life. ..but alright. Credit where credit is due, he supposes.]
